Privacy policy

Who we are

Unified Quests is the trading name of UNIFIED STUDIO LTD, a private limited company registered in England and Wales with company number 17007429. Our registered office is Vantage Point, New England Road, Brighton, BN1 4GW, United Kingdom.

UNIFIED STUDIO LTD is the controller of the personal data described in this policy. In this policy, "we", "us" and "our" mean UNIFIED STUDIO LTD trading as Unified Quests.

We are an independent game studio. We design puzzle games for Android phones and tablets and publish them through Google Play.

This policy tells you what personal data we handle through the unifiedquests.top website and through post sent to us, why we handle it, how long we keep it, who helps us process it and what rights you have under UK data protection law.

Apps this policy covers

At present this policy covers only two things: the unifiedquests.top website, and contact with us by post using the details on our contact page.

No mobile apps are currently published under the Unified Quests name, so this policy does not describe any app, app package, software development kit or Android permission.

When we release a future mobile app on Google Play, that app will have its own separate policy at its own address on unifiedquests.top, in the form unifiedquests.top/privacy/ followed by the name of the game.

Each app policy will give the app name and its exact package name, set out what the app collects in line with its Google Play Data Safety answers, name every SDK in the released build and list every Android permission the build requests.

This page will then list and link each app policy, so you can always find the notice that applies to the game you are playing.

Information we collect

You can read every page of unifiedquests.top without telling us who you are. The website has no accounts, no sign-up forms, no comment boxes, no newsletters and no payment pages.

When your browser requests a page, our hosting provider, Cloudflare, processes technical information on our behalf so that the page can be delivered. This includes your IP address, the address of the page requested, the date and time, your browser type and operating system and, if your browser sends it, the address of the page that linked you to us.

We do not use analytics tools, advertising tags, tracking pixels, fingerprinting or session recording on the website.

If you write to us, we receive your name, your postal address and whatever you choose to put in your letter. If you give us an email address or telephone number in a letter so that we can reply that way, we receive that too.

Please do not send us payment card details, passwords, identity documents or health information. We do not need them to answer a letter, and if they arrive we will return or securely destroy them.

Google Play Data Safety answers describe what an app collects. Because no app is covered by this policy, there are no Data Safety categories to report here. Each app policy will report its own categories and say whether data stays on your device or leaves it.

How we use information

We use technical request information to deliver web pages, keep the website secure and available, and look into errors or misuse.

We use the contents of letters to read and answer them, to deal with any follow-up, to keep a record of what we said and to handle requests about your personal data.

Our lawful basis for running the website securely and for answering letters is our legitimate interest in operating Unified Quests and corresponding with people who contact us. We have considered your interests, and we do not think this processing is intrusive.

Where we must keep a record to meet a legal obligation, such as company or tax record-keeping, our lawful basis is compliance with that legal obligation. If we ever need your consent for something, we will ask for it clearly and separately.

We do not sell personal data, we do not use it for advertising and we do not make decisions about you by purely automated means.

Third-party services and SDKs

The website contains no third-party SDKs, scripts, embedded videos, social media widgets or externally hosted fonts.

Cloudflare, Inc. hosts and delivers unifiedquests.top and acts as our processor for request information. Its privacy policy is available at cloudflare.com/privacypolicy.

Royal Mail and other postal carriers handle letters on their way to and from us under their own terms.

We may also share information with professional advisers, such as accountants or lawyers, where that is needed to run the company, and with public authorities where the law requires it.

Every SDK included in a future app will be named in that app's separate policy, with a link to the provider's own privacy information.

Data retention and deletion

Cloudflare keeps request logs for a short time in line with its own retention settings. We do not copy those logs into any system of our own.

We keep letters and our replies for up to 18 months after the matter is closed. After that, paper is shredded and any scanned copy is deleted.

If a letter becomes part of the company's statutory records, we keep it for as long as UK law requires, which is normally six years from the end of the relevant financial year.

We may keep information for longer where it is needed to establish, exercise or defend a legal claim, and only for as long as that need lasts.

You can ask us to delete your correspondence earlier. We will do so unless the law requires us to keep it, and if it does we will tell you why.

Children

The unifiedquests.top website is a general company website. It is not directed at children under 13.

We do not knowingly collect personal data from children through the website or by post.

If you are a parent or guardian and you believe your child has written to us with personal information, please let us know and we will delete it.

Each future app policy will state the age group the game is designed for and explain how the game meets the rules that apply to that audience.

Permissions

The website requests no device permissions.

Visiting unifiedquests.top never asks for access to your camera, microphone, location, contacts, photos, files, motion sensors or notifications, and the pages run no scripts.

When we publish an Android app, its separate policy will list every permission found in the inspected build and explain what each one is used for.

Your rights

Under the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018 you have the right to ask us for access to your personal data and for a copy of it.

You also have the right to ask us to correct inaccurate data, to erase data, to restrict how we use data, to object to processing based on our legitimate interests and, where the law gives this right, to receive data you provided in a portable form.

To use any of these rights, write to us at the address in the Contact us section. We will reply within one month of receiving your request. If a request is complex, we may extend that by up to two further months and will tell you if we do.

We may ask for reasonable information to confirm your identity before we release or change personal data. Using your rights is normally free of charge.

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your personal data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint or by telephone on 0303 123 1113. We would welcome the chance to resolve your concern first.

International transfers

Unified Quests is run from the United Kingdom, and we keep letters in the United Kingdom.

Cloudflare operates a global network, so technical request information may be processed in countries outside the UK, including the United States.

Where that happens, the transfer is protected by Cloudflare's data processing terms, which include the UK International Data Transfer Addendum to the European Commission's standard contractual clauses, or by another safeguard recognised under UK law.

Changes to this policy

We review this policy when the website changes, before we release a new app and when data protection law changes.

The effective date and version number at the top of this page show when it last changed.

If a change makes a significant difference to how we use personal data, we will explain the change clearly on this page.
